‘Banjarin Belle’

“I have enough jewelry – Said No Woman Ever”

The latest collection by paintedEarth known as the “Banjarin Belle” inspired by and dedicated to the nomadic folk of India. Their style epitomizes freedom in individuality, color, clothing and most importantly, their jewelry. I particularly would like to share with you all three of my personal favorites from the current collection.

The Antique Gold Grandeur

Intricate detailing, antique finish, bold appearance!

This jewel tops my list. Handcrafted in the finest soil and fired to perfection, I love the richness and single tone shade it adorns highlighting the lines and dots carved with knives and refills. Chunky yet classy, wardrobe-friendly, I would rather own such a set before I have a dress to match it with! (Which won’t be hard BTW ;))

Rajasthani Mirror and Kundan inspired

dsc_0716

Beaded, Bright and Beautiful!

Every time I walk into an exhibition, something glitters, shines and reflects. I look around to find the source only to come across the most attractive stall that boasts beautiful mirror and kundan work bags and clothes. The same gets transcended on to clay and ‘voila’! This set embellished with blue and green kundan stones and mirror work on the pendant is my way of imbibing the same technique on clay.

Ornate bird

Stunning and ethnic!

The hand crafted bird beads in this necklace represents the nomadic lifestyle of a Banjarin moving from place to place inspiring the surroundings and vice-versa. Made with natural clay, this kiln-fired piece in hues of red and green on an antique gold backdrop caresses one’s neck in the most elegant manner.
